What are the different roles available?

Owner

  • Owner is the one who purchases a Enterprise Solution licence and creates a group.

  • Owner must purchase other licences (eg portfolio, demurrage etc) to view the data associated with the plans. Otherwise, the only data that will be accessible will be the free features (product data, market data etc).

  • Owner can only invite and assign roles. He cannot remove user from group (unless he is Admin) or have access to any data (unless he is Admin/User) unless he has been assigned a role. Only Admin can view, manage and edit data.

  • After creating a group, owner can choose whether he wants to be in the group; if so, he can select his role as Admin and/or User; if not, he can just exclude himself and add other email address to add users into the group. If Owner did not assign a role to himself, he is not in the group and cannot access any data by other users in the group.

  • Owner can only invite user who has an account in MAF Cloud.

  • 1 user can create many groups as owner (1 enterprise solution plan = 1 group) but can only join 1 group as admin/user.



Admin

  • Only Admin can invite/delete user in the group, assign roles to other users, and view, edit and delete data for other users in the group.

  • There can be many Admins in a group.

  • Admin can only invite user who has an account in MAF Cloud.

  • Admin’s data can be viewed, edited and deleted by other users in the group.

  • 1 user can only join 1 group as admin/user.



User

  • User must have an account in MAF Cloud before he can be invited into a group.

  • User will receive an invitation email to join a group and the email will expire in 2 days. He has to click the link in the email to join the group.

  • When a user has been invited into a group, he can choose to keep or delete his data:

    • if he chooses to keep his data, all his data will be accessible (can be viewed, edited, deleted) to other users in the group.

    • if he chooses to delete his data, his data will be emptied and any data added to his own account will be accessible to other users in the group.

  • All users can view, edit and delete data for other users in the group.

  • User's data can be viewed, edited and deleted by other users in the group.

  • If user purchased a licence individually (which has not been purchased by the owner in the group, eg user purchase portfolio licence but owner did not), the other users in the group will not be able to access the data of that particular licence (eg portfolio).

  • User cannot quit the group and if he wants to leave, he has to notify the owner or admin to remove him from the group

  • 1 user can only join 1 group as admin/user.
